At , everything starts with a consultation. Dr Patrick Lyall, your plastic surgeon, will discuss with you in detail which combination of procedures is best for you. It may be droopy skin on your face or loss of definition around your jaw and neck that determines where the focus should be. Either way you will want a subtle and refreshed look. Patrick often performs eyelid surgery simultaneously to achieve the best possible overall results. During the consultation process, you will define your wishes, with Patrick’s advice guiding you. Once you have agreed on the desired outcome, Patrick will provide you with a personal cost estimate.
Your facelift surgery
Patrick will perform your facelift at Mercy Hospital under general anaesthetic. You will probably need to stay in hospital for only one night. The duration of the surgery is usually 5 hours but longer if simultaneous procedures such as eyelid surgery are performed. There is a risk of complications occurring, as is the case with any medical procedure. Patrick will talk you through them in detail during the consultation process.
Your recovery after the facelift
Swelling and bruising is common after facelift surgery, the extent of which differs between patients. The most obvious effects will have settled by 2 weeks. To feel comfortable in public again, you should allow two to three weeks off work for the swelling to subside.
Facelift surgery cost at
Patrick will always give you a personal cost estimate before any procedure is agreed on. For a full facelift, you can expect a cost of about $31,000 which includes Patrick’s fee as the surgeon, as well as hospital and anaesthetic fees. If you and Patrick agree on a simultaneous eyelift surgery, this will involve additional cost.
