During body lift surgery, Patrick will remove excess soft tissue from relevant areas. Where an abdominoplasty focuses on your tummy only, a body lift will also address your back, arms and legs. During the consultation process, you will define your wishes, with Patrick’s advice guiding you. Once you have agreed on the desired outcome, Patrick will provide you with a personal cost estimate.
Your body lift surgery
Patrick will perform your surgery under general anaesthetic at Mercy Hospital. The operation can take between 3-7 hours, after which you will need to stay in hospital for two to three nights. Like any medical procedure, body lift surgery comes with some risk of complications. Patrick will talk you through them in detail during the consultation process.
Recovery process
A body lift is major surgery, and you can expect some discomfort and swelling for up to a couple of weeks. We will get you up and moving on the day of surgery. Once you return home, Patrick will arrange regular follow-up to monitor your healing process. You’ll need to wear supportive garments for about six weeks. Your return to exercise needs to be gradual. While your surgical scars will heal and fade over time, they are permanent.
Recovery times after body lift surgery can vary significantly between patients. You can expect to be off work for 3 to 4 weeks if you have a desk job, or up to 6 weeks if your job is more physically demanding.
Cost of body lift surgery at
Before any procedure is agreed on, Patrick will always give you a personal cost estimate. The duration of your procedure, and therefore time spent in the operating theatre, has the biggest influence on overall cost. The hospital stay will also be longer for more extensive procedures. For your body lift, you can expect a cost starting around $34,700 which includes Patrick’s fee as the surgeon, as well as hospital and anaesthetic fees. A simultaneous liposuction or breast surgery, if agreed upon, will involve additional cost but will not lengthen your hospital stay.
